FAQs

  • Sessions are all virtual.

  • We will get you set up with a portal and a link to our secure telehealth platform. Find yourself  a comfortable, private space with consistent wifi to log-in from. When you click on the link, it will take you to my waiting room. I will start the video session from there.

  • This depends on what you are working on and the support you are looking for. I typically recommend initially meeting weekly. This gives me the chance to get to know you and allows you to keep the momentum moving in your work.

  • When we meet, we confirm our next appointment, the time is reserved for you and the expectation is that you will be able to attend (because hopefully you looked at your calendar when we were chatting). If you are unable to attend, or there is an emergency, I do offer one free missed appointment without charging. After that, all missed appointments will be charged their entire appointment fee. If you are able to reschedule within the week, pending availability, I do not charge for the missed appointment.

  • Our first appointment will look different than most of our other appointments. I will have a lot of questions for you to get to know you, and we will spend some time getting clear on your goals. Subsequent sessions we will spend time working on those goals.

  • So glad you asked! Head on over to this link to get started

  • Absolutely! In starting therapy, you are asking yourself to do something pretty vulnerable and likely outside your comfort zone. In my opinion, being nervous is actually a signal that your nervous system is doing its job: noticing something new coming your way and putting you on alert until you are sure that it's safe. Our job together in the first few sessions will be to help you (and your nervous system) start to feel comfortable working together.

  • Finding a right-fit therapist is probably one of the most important things you can do. Working with someone who is a right-fit will help you feel heard, supported, and connected. There are a few different places for us to consider if working together will be a good fit. 1. This website: check out my about me section where I share a bit about myself and how I work. Think about if how I work aligns with how you typically show up. 2. Our 15 min phone consult: This is a great time to ask your questions and get a sense of what a session might feel like. 3. Our first few sessions: You do not have to know right away if therapy is “working” or If I am a “right fit” therapist for you. Sometimes part of the work is figuring that out together, and that is okay. Today we really like “instant” and “quick fixes.” Therapy is a lot of beautiful things, but it is neither of those. Doing the work of therapy is important for growth and development, and it's okay if you don’t know the answers right away. Working together, we will help you live your way into the answers.
