Weekly Support When Your Foundation Shifts

Therapy for when life disrupts everything you thought you knew about yourself

You're Not Who You Thought You Were

There's a particular kind of disorientation that happens when the story you've told yourself about who you are suddenly stops making sense. Maybe a diagnosis or mystery symptoms changed everything. Maybe a relationship, career, or belief system you built your life around collapsed. Maybe your body highlighted assumptions you didn't even know you were making.

The person you thought you were doesn't exist anymore, your current reality doesn't make sense, and who you want to be feels out of reach. That internal disconnect takes everything out of you.

And That's Overwhelming

This isn't about "finding yourself,"

simple self-improvement

or getting back to “normal”.

This is about working through what happens when foundational beliefs about life, health, or identity no longer hold. Finding ways to rebuild, not back to "normal," but toward something more authentic.

HEY! I’M LYNN

Here, you don’t have to keep it all together. You can be real about what you're going through.

Figuring out who you are now isn't just about thinking differently… your body has to catch up too. It's about helping your nervous system calm down enough that you can sit with the uncertainty while you build something that feels more you.

We work at your pace, focusing on what helps you feel grounded and authentic. Sometimes that means settling your system enough to access clarity. Other times it's about bridging the gap between how you're seen and what you're actually living.

No timeline, no pressure to have it all figured out.

Learn more about how I work

This work is for you if:

  • Something major happened that completely upended who you thought you were.

Illness, trauma, loss, disability, or any experience that drastically changed your sense of self.

  • You're exhausted from keeping it together on the outside while it feels like chaos on the inside.

The performance is wearing you down.

  • Your body won't calm down.

You're either constantly on edge or completely shut down, and feeling safe seems impossible even when nothing's actively wrong.

  • What you thought you knew about yourself doesn't work anymore.

What you're capable of, who you can trust, what your future looks like. All of it needs rebuilding

Your Questions, Answered

  • Weekly therapy is ideal if you are currently navigating a "shifting foundation"—like a new medical diagnosis, a career transition, or active grief—and need a consistent anchor to stay grounded. If you feel like you are "stable but stuck" and want to clear a specific past trauma, an intensive might be a better fit. Many clients in MI, IL, MA, and NY actually start with an intensive to "reset" their system and then move into weekly sessions for integration.

  • Absolutely not. In fact, the goal of our work is to create a space where the performance can stop. We focus heavily on nervous system regulation, which means we prioritize how you actually feel in the moment over how "productive" the conversation is. If you show up exhausted, we work with that exhaustion rather than pushing through it.

  • Yes. While Somatic EMDR is powerful in long intensives, it is also highly effective in weekly increments. We use our time to build "somatic resources" (tools to help your body feel safe) and process smaller pieces of the larger story. If we find that 50 minutes feels too short to close a deep "loop," we can discuss moving to 90-minute extended sessions.

  • Surprisingly, yes. For many of my clients in New York City, Boston, and Chicago, being in their own familiar environment allows their nervous system to relax faster than it would in a clinical office. We use the same somatic tracking and EMDR techniques virtually that I use in my Southwest Michigan office, ensuring you get deep, transformative care regardless of your zip code.

Weekly sessions are available in two formats:

Standard Session

50 Minutes ($225)

Ideal for consistent processing, nervous system check-ins, and gradual integration work. Most clients begin here.

Extended Session

90 Minutes ($360)

More space to process what's happening in your body and mind without rushing. Especially valuable when things feel particularly intense or chaotic.

Session format flexibility: We can adjust between 50 and 90-minute sessions based on where you are in your process. Looking for short term, focused work instead of weekly sessions? Explore a Therapy Intensive

What to Expect

This isn't quick work, and it isn't linear. Some weeks you'll feel you're making progress; others will feel like regression. Both are part of the process. We'll work at the pace your nervous system can tolerate, building capacity gradually rather than pushing through in ways that create further chaos and anxiety.

As your therapist, I understand that intellectual insight is great, but not enough; your body needs to learn new patterns of safety and that finding your grounded, authentic you happens as much through felt experience as through understanding. When we work with both your brain and your body, lasting change is possible
