What Is an Intensive Therapy Experience?
Intensive therapy is an accelerated, immersive approach to healing that condenses months of traditional weekly therapy into several consecutive days of focused therapeutic work. Rather than brief weekly sessions that interrupt the momentum of deep processing, you engage in extended daily sessions that allow you to go deeper, faster, and achieve breakthroughs that might otherwise take months or years.
The Format
Our intensive programs typically run 1-3 consecutive days, with 3 hours of therapeutic work each day. This isn't group therapy or a workshop—this is dedicated one-on-one time where every moment is tailored specifically to your healing journey. Between sessions, you'll have time for rest, integration, and gentle activities that support your process.
Weekly therapy isn’t always the answer.
Weekly therapy is invaluable for many situations.
But the traditional 50-minute weekly format has inherent limitations that can work against deep healing.
Here's what happens: You spend the first few minutes settling in and catching up. You begin to access deeper material, your nervous system starts to respond from a place of safety, and just as you're reaching the emotional core of what needs to be processed… your time is up. You leave in a vulnerable state, return to daily life's demands, and by the time you return the following week, you have re-established your protective patterns… and it can feel like you’re starting from square one. This cycle can continue for months or years, with glimpses of breakthrough but never quite enough momentum to create lasting transformation.
What you need is uninterrupted time where your nervous system can settle fully, where you can move through multiple layers of processing without stopping and restarting, and where integration happens naturally as part of the journey. This is exactly what intensive therapy provides: concentrated focus, sustained nervous system regulation, and an immersive environment that allows transformation to unfold at the pace your healing actually requires.
Traditional Weekly Therapy:
You begin opening up, then must leave just as you're getting to the difficult material
A week passes; you lose momentum and must recap previous sessions
Your nervous system returns to baseline between sessions, never fully settling into the depth of work
Life demands interrupt the continuity of healing
Work unfolds over 12-24+ months
Intensive Therapy:
You move through layers of experience without interruption, reaching depths not possible in 50 minutes
Momentum builds each day as we continue from where we left off
Your nervous system has time to truly settle, allowing authentic regulation and integration
You step away from daily demands to focus entirely on your healing
Achieve months of progress in one week
This Work Is For You If:
You've experienced a serious illness, injury, or diagnosis that changed how you see yourself
You're struggling to rebuild after loss, trauma, or a life event that shattered your assumptions
You feel disconnected from your body and don't trust your physical self anymore
Traditional talk therapy hasn't created the shift you need
You're ready for intensive work but need the safety of nervous system regulation first
You want to compress months of healing into a dedicated, immersive experience
You're capable of taking time away from daily demands to focus on deep therapeutic work
You're willing to feel uncomfortable emotions in service of genuine transformation
What to Expect: Your Journey
-
We begin with a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether intensive work is right for you. This is your opportunity to ask questions, understand the process, and determine if we're the right fit.
-
Before your intensive begins, you will have the option to fill out a personalized workbook, and we'll have a 90 minute initial session to establish goals, discuss logistics, and begin building the therapeutic relationship. You'll receive guidance on what to expect and how to prepare mentally, emotionally, and practically for your intensive experience.
-
You'll engage in 3 hours of therapeutic work each day, with breaks for rest and integration. Our work together will include somatic body awareness, parts work, Somatic EMDR, nervous system regulation techniques, and other evidence-based modalities tailored to your needs. The retreat-like setting allows for complete immersion in your healing process.
-
Transformation continues after the intensive ends. You'll receive one 90-minute follow-up session in the month after your intensive to support integration, address questions, and reinforce your nervous system regulation practices.
Invest In Your Healing
Intensive therapy represents a significant commitment of time, energy, and resources. The investment starts at $2,000 depending on the length and specific needs of your intensive. This includes all therapeutic sessions, preparation and integration support, and personalized materials.
While this is a substantial investment, consider that this represents 6-12 months of weekly therapy condensed into one transformative week, with the added benefit of nervous system-focused work that creates lasting change at a neurobiological level.
Payment plans are available, and I'm happy to provide documentation for insurance reimbursement (though intensive therapy is typically an out-of-pocket expense).
You Don't Have to Rebuild Yourself Alone
If you're ready to move from feeling lost to feeling grounded in who you're becoming, let's talk.
Hey! I’m Lynn,
I work with women who feel like they've lost touch with who they are after going through illness, trauma, or major life changes.
With advanced training in nervous system regulation, somatic EMDR, and Integrative Mental Health Counseling, I bring a deeply integrative approach to identity reconstruction work.
I understand that when your core assumptions about life have been challenged, you need more than weekly talk therapy. You need someone who can help your nervous system find safety again while guiding you through the complex process of discovering who you are beyond the crisis.
My intensive therapy practice emerged from witnessing how many clients needed more than weekly sessions could offer; they needed dedicated time and space to do the deep work of rebuilding from the inside out.

FAQs
-
If you're able to take several days away from responsibilities, are willing to engage in emotionally challenging work, and feel that weekly therapy isn't providing the depth you need, you may be ready. Our consultation will help determine if this is the right time and approach for you.
-
This is precisely why nervous system regulation is the foundation of our work. You'll learn to recognize overwhelm and have tools to manage it before we go deeper. We pace the work to match your nervous system's capacity, ensuring you're challenged without being retraumatized.
-
Intensives are held in a private, comfortable therapy space. For out-of-area clients, I can provide referrals to nearby accommodations that support the retreat-like nature of this work.
-
Integration is crucial. You'll have one follow-up sessions in the month after your intensive. Many clients choose to continue with monthly sessions after this period to maintain momentum, though this is optional. If you are working with another therapist on a weekly basis, I am happy to provide a summary of our work together, so you can continue your work there.
-
Intensive therapy is typically not covered by insurance, but I provide detailed superbills for potential reimbursement. Some clients use HSA/FSA funds for this investment.

The ideal length depends on what you're working through and your nervous system's capacity. A 1-day intensive works well for focused work on a specific issue or as an introduction to this format. A 2-day intensive offers a good balance—enough time to establish nervous system regulation and begin meaningful processing. A 3-day intensive allows for the most comprehensive work, giving us space to regulate, process multiple layers, and thoroughly integrate. During our complimentary consultation, I'll help assess what length makes sense for your specific situation and goals.
-
Absolutely. Many clients who do intensive work with me maintain their ongoing relationship with their regular therapist. In fact, having an established therapeutic relationship can be beneficial; your therapist knows your history and can provide continuity of care before and after the intensive. Think of the intensive as a concentrated experience that complements your ongoing therapy rather than replacing it. With your permission, I'm happy to communicate with your current therapist to ensure we're working collaboratively toward your healing goals. Many therapists actually refer their clients for intensive work when they recognize that weekly sessions aren't providing the depth or momentum needed for a particular issue. Your regular therapist can then help you continue integrating and building on the progress made during the intensive.
-
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of scheduling to reserve your intensive dates. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of your intensive. The deposit is non-refundable because once your dates are reserved, I hold that time exclusively for you and turn away other clients. However, if you need to reschedule due to illness or emergency, we can work together to find alternative dates within 3 months. We'll discuss options during your consultation to ensure the investment is manageable for your situation.
-
That's completely normal and exactly why I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This isn't a sales call—it's a genuine conversation where we explore whether intensive therapy is right for you at this time. We'll discuss what you're dealing with, whether your nervous system is ready for this depth of work, and honestly assess if this approach matches your needs and goals. You'll get a clear sense of what the experience would be like, and I'll tell you directly if I think weekly therapy or another approach might serve you better right now. There's no pressure or obligation. Sometimes people need more time, more preparation, or a different modality altogether—and that's perfectly okay. The consultation helps both of us determine if this is the right fit, at the right time, for your unique situation. If you're feeling even a small pull toward something more intensive, that curiosity is worth exploring.
